User Agreement

Last updated: September 24, 2026

Welcome to SkillDeck. This agreement is between you and Liu Feiyu, the developer of SkillDeck ("we", "us"), and covers your use of the SkillDeck desktop app and this website. By downloading, installing, or using SkillDeck, you confirm that you have read and accept this agreement and the Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use SkillDeck.

1. What the service does

SkillDeck is a desktop app (available for macOS and as a Windows beta) that installs Agent Skills from local folders, Git repositories (including GitHub and GitLab shorthand), or public HTTPS endpoints; enables or disables them per AI agent; tracks upstream updates; and optionally translates documents into a language you read comfortably.

SkillDeck acquires, organizes, and displays Skill files. It never executes Skill content. Which agent reads a Skill, and what that agent then does, is determined by the agent you use.

Some features depend on network access, a usable git executable on your system, and third-party services you configure yourself.

SkillDeck is currently free. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will state the price and the applicable terms clearly before charging anything.

2. License

Subject to this agreement, we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SkillDeck on devices you own or control.

Except where the law expressly allows it, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble SkillDeck; sell, rent, or sublicense it; or remove its copyright and attribution notices.

3. The content you install

Skills installed through SkillDeck come from sources you choose, and their copyright and license terms belong to their original authors. It is up to you to confirm that:

  • you have the right to obtain and use that content; and
  • your use complies with the upstream open-source license or terms of use.

We make no warranty about, and accept no responsibility for, the content, quality, safety, or legality of third-party Skills. Skills are instructions that AI agents read and act on. Only install sources you trust.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the Skills you install, edit, and distribute, including their legality and safety.
  • Do not use SkillDeck to spread malicious code, infringing content, or unlawful material.
  • Keep the third-party credentials you configure safe. SkillDeck stores them in system secure storage, but is not responsible for the availability, billing, or data handling of third-party services.
  • Before starting a translation, make sure the document contains nothing you are not willing to send to a third party. See Section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party services

SkillDeck contacts the code hosts or HTTPS addresses you specify when you act on a source and during automatic Skill update checks, and contacts the translation provider you configured after you confirm a translation. Each of these services has its own terms, availability limits, regional restrictions, and pricing, none of which this agreement governs. Any charges for translation services are between you and your provider.

6. Translations

Translations are produced by machine models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or differ from the original meaning. They are for reading reference only; agents always read the original document. Check the original before relying on a translation.

7. Anonymous analytics

SkillDeck turns on a set of anonymous product analytics by default to help improve the product. You can turn it off in Settings at any time. What is collected and how it is handled is described in Section 3 of the Privacy Policy.

8. Software updates

SkillDeck checks for new versions periodically and notifies you when one is available. Updates may add features, fix problems, or improve security, and may also change or remove features. We are not obliged to keep providing updates, but we recommend staying on the latest version to receive fixes and support.

9. Intellectual property

The SkillDeck software, interface, design, brand marks, and documentation belong to the developer or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in this agreement are reserved.

10. Disclaimer

SkillDeck is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no express or implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, SkillDeck, including data loss, work interruption, or third-party service charges.

Keep your own backups of important Skill content.

Nothing in this agreement limits any rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived by agreement.

12. Termination

You may stop using and uninstall SkillDeck at any time. If your use breaches this agreement, or creates risk for other users, third parties, or related services, we may stop providing you with updates and support. Sections 3, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

13. Changes and severability

We may adjust features, supported platforms, or this agreement as the product evolves, and will update the last-updated date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be pointed out in the app's release notes or on this website. Continuing to use SkillDeck after a change takes effect means you accept the updated agreement.

If any provision of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
